AhlulBayt News Agency: The Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) convened its fourth meeting since the onset of Israel’s military aggression against Iran.
During Monday evening's session, chaired by President Masoud Pezeshkian, officials reviewed the latest developments in Iran’s retaliatory operations. According to a statement from the SNSC Secretariat, the council reaffirmed its commitment to continuing strikes on Israeli targets.
According to IRNA, Israel initiated attacks inside Iranian territory on June 13, including direct strikes on residential buildings. High-ranking Iranian military officials were assassinated in targeted operations, while civilians lost their lives as homes were deliberately hit. Entire population centers have suffered from the assault.
In response, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei swiftly appointed new military commanders and vowed that Israel would face severe consequences. Within hours, Iran launched counterstrikes deep into Israeli territory, targeting major cities such as Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Haifa with ballistic missiles and drones. The situation in occupied territories has become dire, with Israelis forced into underground bomb shelters for extended periods.
Iranian officials have asserted that their operations will persist as long as necessary. Since the counteroffensive began, successive waves of Iranian missile strikes have penetrated Israeli defenses, hitting designated targets with precision. Despite strict Israeli censorship, widespread footage has surfaced, showing Iranian missiles striking their objectives successfully.
